New books from Beinecke collections in the Library's 1963 Room

As part of our recent renovation at the Beinecke Library, we created the 1963 Room, a staff meeting room named for the year the library opened. The room, which includes elements of the design and spirit of the library in its early years, offers a space where we can highlight recent scholarship from our collections (on view here: Gather Out of Star-Dust: A Harlem Renaissance Album by Melissa Barton; The Book in History, The Book as History: New Intersections of the Material Text. Essays in Honor of David Scott Kastan, Edited by Heidi Brayman, Jesse M. Lander, and Zachary Lesser; Story Time: Essays on the Betsy Beinecke Shirley Collection of American Children's Literature Edited by Timothy Young; The Voynich Manuscript Edited by Raymond Clemens).

We are always eager to help spread the word about new scholarship from our collections and we frequently post notices about books, articles, and conference presentations that have benefited from research in our reading room or using our online resources on our website (see recent announcements online here: New Scholarship from Beinecke Collections).  Students, scholars, and fellows are invited and encouraged to let us know about new work drawn from the Beinecke Library’s collections.  Please send a citation, summary, and information about Beinecke collections consulted by following this link: New Scholarship from Beinecke: Submissions.
