With the tenth anniversary of the Little Review in 1924, Anderson suggested they cease publication. Heap disagreed and decided to continue the journal without Anderson's co-editorship. Jane Heap edited the journal on her own; she shifted the magazine's focus to the visual arts by including more work by painters and sculptors, especially those associated with dadaism, surrealism, and other modern art movements. She eventually opened the Little Review Gallery through which she organized and curated a major exhibition of “machine age” art and architecture in 1927. She was also actively involved in the organization of an international theater exposition in 1926.
