Of Le Gallienne’s revival of the well-loved character Peter Pan, a New York Times critic wrote: “She was a gallant, buoyant, clean-cut figure and gave Peter plenty of élan and boyish grace. She even expressed something of the aloofness of Peter—the boy who would not be mothered to the ruin of his boyhood.”1
