Eva Le Gallienne as Peter Pan in the
Civic Repertory Theatre production of
J.M. Barries Peter Pan, or The Boy who Wouldnt
Grow Up
1928
Theatre Guild Records
Of Le Galliennes revival of the well-loved character Peter Pan,
a New York Times critic wrote: She was a gallant, buoyant,
clean-cut figure and gave Peter plenty of élan and boyish grace.
She even expressed something of the aloofness of Peterthe boy
who would not be mothered to the ruin of his boyhood.1
