Conference Hotel
The conference hotel is the Omni New Haven, 155 Temple Street. The Omni is located in downtown New Haven, in the midst of the city's major shopping, dining, and entertainment venues, one block from the central New Haven Green and a short walk from the Yale University campus, where most preconference events will be held. The hotel is one mile from Union Station, accessible by Amtrak and Metro North trains, and two miles from Connecticut Limo's shuttle terminal. See Travel for more information.

A block of single and double rooms has been reserved. Hotel rooms are equipped with voice mail and dual line phones for modem access. Hotel facilities include a parking garage ($8 per day), a business center, and restaurant and room service. A variety of additional restaurants and light dining options are within easy walking distance of the hotel. The hotel also features a fitness center. In addition, all RBMS preconference attendees may use Yale's Payne Whitney Gymnasium at a cost of $5 per day.

The hotel rate for RBMS preconference attendees is $129, single or double, plus tax (currently 12%). This rate will be available Saturday, June 19, through Friday, June 25, for reservations made by May 24. Similar rates may apply for earlier arrivals or later departures; contact the Omni for more information. Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. Checkout time is 12:00 p.m. To obtain the preconference rate, reservations must be made by calling 1-800-THE-OMNI (1-800-843-6664), and requesting the ACRL Rare Books and Manuscripts Preconference special rate. Reservations may be cancelled without penalty up to 72 hours in advance. Credit cards accepted by the hotel are American Express, MasterCard, and Visa.

The Omni New Haven is an easy 10-15 minute walk from all Yale campus preconference sites. For further information, see the preconference Schedule and Maps.

Note: The Omni Hotel is currently sold out of rooms for the preconference dates. For those of you who still need a hotel room, we have worked out a special rate with the Holiday Inn at Yale. The Holiday Inn, located at 30 Whalley Ave., is also within easy walking distance of Yale and downtown New Haven. The ACRL/RBMS special room rate is $109.00 + tax per night. Dormitory
Dormitory rooms will be available in one of Yale's residential colleges, Calhoun College, at a cost of $45 per night, Saturday June 19, through Monday, June 28. Cafeteria dining will be available in Saybrook College. Calhoun, Saybrook and other Yale colleges are located on the central campus and are walking distance from preconference sites, as well as New Haven's central shopping, dining, and entertainment venues. The campus is a few miles from Union Station, accessible by Amtrak and Metro North trains, and two miles from Connecticut Limo's shuttle terminal. See Travel for more information.

Dormitory rooms are in suites of single rooms, with 3-6 people sharing a bath. Each suite has a phone line and voicemail, but guests must bring their own phones. Linens, towels, and a reading lamp are provided. Rooms are not air conditioned; please note that June weather may be warm and humid. Current meal rates are as follows: breakfast ($5.75), lunch ($8.75), and dinner ($11.50).

Dormitory guests may arrange at check in for parking at the Colony Inn Garage, at about $7 per day. For parking locations, see Travel. All preconference attendees may use Yale's Payne Whitney Gymnasium at a cost of $5 per day. See Maps for locations.

Reservations for dormitory accommodations must be made through Yale Conference Services by May 28, 2004. To make a reservation, print the Campus Housing Registration Form, and return to Yale Conference Services by fax or US Mail. Conference attendees wishing to request accommodations after the May 28th deadline must contact Yale Conference Services directly at confserv@yale.edu to inquire about availability. Cancellations may be made prior to June 15, with a $25 fee.
