Receptions
Preconference attendees are invited to receptions Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, June 21 through June 23, to mingle with fellow RBMS members and enjoy Yale's celebrated and varied architecture. The opening night reception, on Monday, June 21, will be held in Sterling Memorial Library, one of the jewels of Yale's neo-Gothic campus. Tuesday night's reception and dinner will be held in the Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library, a modernist icon of bronze, marble and granite. The annual Katharine Kyes Leab & Daniel J. Leab American Book Prices Current Exhibition Awards winners will be on display in Beinecke during the Tuesday night reception and dinner. The final reception, on Wednesday night, will take place in the Yale Center for British Art, Louis Kahn's final masterwork.
Wednesday's reception will be followed by an informal "Restaurant Night," in which attendees may join one of several small groups for dinner at a restaurant within walking distance of YCBA in downtown New Haven. Sign-up sheets and menus for restaurants will be available at registration on Monday and Tuesday.
