The Library's catalog, Orbis, provides access to collections material across the Yale University Library. Below is a list of recently cataloged Beinecke Library acquisitions that are now available in the catalog.
The collection consists of three drawings by Greville Rickard: "Sherry-Netherland Fire" (circa 1927, crayon on paper mounted on board, 51 x 34.5 cm.), "Residence of Dr. Charles V. Paterno, Greenwich, Conn." (circa 1937, ink on card, 56 x 32 cm.), and an aerial view of an unidentified house (undated, crayon, ink, and watercolor on paper). The drawings were signed by Rickard.
The collection consists of graphite, ink, and watercolor sketches for three of Robert Locher's projects: two illustrations for Prancing Nigger by Ronald Firbank (New York: Brentano's, 1924); eight illustrations and title page designs for The White Robe by James Branch Cabell (New York: R. M. McBride & Company, 1928), and a dust jacket design for Tropical Winter by Joseph Hergesheimer (New York: A. A. Knopf, 1933). The Cabell sketches are accompanied by sets of negative and positive photostats of the finished illustrations; the Hergesheimer sketch is accompanied by a printed dust jacket.
Collection consists chiefly of correspondence relating to George Leite and publication of Circle magazine, including carbons of outgoing letters and original incoming letters. Correspondents include Harper & Brothers, Ben Hecht, Dorothy Norman, and others. Accompanied by a copy of a 1944 interview with Leite about Circle magazine and drafts, typescript, corrected, of translations, done in collaboration with Basil Marros, of a poem by "D. Rentis".
