Description: Typescript mimeograph copy of a memoir by Virgil Rout, describing homesteading in Red Rock, Oklahoma on the Cherokee Strip. Rout describes the process of making a settlement and claim in 1894, contentions over land claims, working on cattle drives, marrying Mabel Goddard Rout, attending the Democratic National Convention in 1900, farming on the homestead, and moving to Crescent, Oklahoma.

Land development records of South Dakota and Oklahoma, 1900-1913.

Insurance agents Nebraska.
Description: Ledger containing manuscript entries in unidentified hands and clipped printed maps, primarily concerning land development in South Dakota and Oklahoma. The first fourteen pages of the ledger, kept by an agent in Wausa, Nebraska, concern insurance policies for agricultural supplies. The bulk of the ledger contains clipped, annotated county sectional maps for South Dakota and Oklahoma. Some maps include the names of the owners of the Indian allotments, as well as the names of white settlers. Also included are five maps, laid in, of South Dakota counties.

Bruml family papers, 1901-1939.

Description: Three ledgers, completed in manuscript, documenting the activities of the Bruml family. The first ledger, 1901, contains a detailed inventory of the Bruml brother's general store's stock, including textiles, clothing, and household goods, as well as a list of the store's liabilities and creditors. The second ledger, 1911-1939, contains a list of the store's and family's accounts. The third ledger contains a collection of school essays written by Leonard Bruml in 1916, as well as papers, tipped in, written by him in 1920.

Description: Autograph letter, signed, from John G. Bell to "Giraud" (possibly Jacob Post Giraud) regarding bird watching, taxidermy, and mounting specimens, particularly eagles and pine grosbeaks. Bell mentions that he is waiting for "Mr. Lawrence" (possibly George N. Lawrence) to send birds to him so that he can mount them for Giraud.
