Manuscript, on paper, in several scripts, containing legal texts concerning property and inheritance. Contents include a series of lectures in English on copyhold by Sir Charles Calthrope, originally given in 1574/75 at Furnivall's Inn; a copy in English of the important "Shelley's Case" on inheritance as argued by Sir Edward Coke, along with his dedicatory epistle to the 1582 publication of the decision; and a copy in Law French of "Tresham's Case" on inheritance as argued by the Roman Catholic lawyer Edmund Plowden in 1583. Other contents include brief memoranda on subjects such as the order of procedure at quarter sessions and a copy of a letter from Coke to Sir Thomas Sackville, 1581 January 2.
