Printed invoice, completed in manuscript in an unidentified hand and signed by E. B. Woolley and Amador County justice of the peace John Doble. Invoice describes Woolley & Patterson transporting an African-American man named “Kenady” (likely Kennedy) from Volcano, California to a hospital in Jackson, California. Manuscript notations by Thomas M. Pawling, county clerk, indicate that Amador County paid Woolley & Patterson $8.

Autograph letter, signed, from Jerome E. Stacy to William Fraser. Stacy discusses land owned by Fraser in Kossuth County, Iowa and Hancock County, Iowa, including agricultural prospects, the effect of the railroad on the value of the land, and his estimation of the price per acre if Fraser were to sell the land. Stacy advises Fraser to sell the land and advertises his services as a real estate agent and property manager.
