The Yale Library Associates

The Yale Library Associates was founded in 1930 to support and strengthen the Yale libraries. Members are invited to lectures, exhibitions, openings, receptions, performances, and symposia throughout the year. Topics range from ancient texts to modern literature and music, and members are encouraged to share their interests with others. Donations to the Yale Library Associates in the form of membership dues, individual gifts of money or books, and bequests have been essential in adding books and other research materials to the Yale Libraries.

In the past, gifts from members have been designated for the Yale Library Associates Endowment Fund, which exclusively supports purchases of rare books and manuscripts, or the Yale Library Associates Celebration Fund, which supports digitization, cataloging, and preservation. You may still designate your gifts for either or both of these funds, but in addition, you may now designate gifts for the Yale Library Associates University Librarian’s Discretionary Fund where they will be applied to any of the Library’s current funding priorities.
