The Beinecke Library congratulates poet Louise Glück (YCAL MSS 946), who will be awarded the National Humanities Medal by President Obama at the White House on September 22nd (the ceremony will stream live at WH.gov/live).
The citation honoring Glück’s extraordinary accomplishment as a poet reads: “For giving lyrical expression to our inner conflicts. Her use of verse connects us to the myths of the ancients, the magic of the natural world, and the essence of who we are.” The NEH announcement is online here: President Obama to Award 2015 National Humanities Medals.
