By Nancy Kuhl

American artist Darragh Park was born in New York on July 24, 1939, and died on April 17, 2009. Park was the literary executor of American poet, novelist, and playwright James Marcus Schuyler (1923-1991). The Darragh Park collection at Beinecke Library includes thirty-nine sketchbooks, one painting, and one drawing. The collection was the bequest of Darragh Park (Yale Class of 1961).

The sketchbooks are untitled and vary in size and format. The oil painting is titled The Plaid Shirt; it is signed at the lower left. The pastel drawing is a portrait of James Marcus Schuyler, signed at the lower right. Two additional paintings by Trevor Winkfield from the collection of Darragh Park are present in the collection.
