A Yale University Library working group is exploring avenues for providing emulation of born digital collections as a service to library users. A video game devised by novelist Thomas M. Disch and found among his papers at in the Yale Collection of American Literature at the Beinecke Library has been selected as a test case. The game, Amnesia, was selected for testing because it is available for multiple operating systems – this will allow the working group  to test viewing the same source through multiple emulators.

Though their work is ongoing, the group has successfully emulated the Commodore 64 version of Amnesia.  We are thrilled by this exciting progress. Please stay tuned for future updates about this project…
