Rudyard Kipling: The Books I Leave Behind

June 1 through September 15, 2007

This exhibition, focusing on the life and works of Rudyard Kipling, a writer who appealed to a vast audience with his novels, poems, and works for young readers, is drawn principally from the collection given to Yale by David Alan Richards (Yale College ‘67; Yale Law School ‘72). While tracing the development of Kipling’s writings, the exhibition pays special attention to variant editions and elusive printings of many of his rarest works, reflecting the exhaustive research in Richards’s recently published bibliography of Kipling. Exhibition curated by David Alan Richards. [ca. 225 items]
