Biography

Paolo Petrocelli is a cultural leader, performing arts executive, and scholar specializing in cultural diplomacy, international cultural development, and the governance of major arts institutions. He serves as Head of Dubai Opera, the principal performing arts centre of the United Arab Emirates, where he leads the strategic, artistic, and institutional development of one of the fastest-growing cultural platforms in the Middle East.

He is the Founder and President of EMMA for Peace, an international organization promoting peacebuilding through music, and a UNESCO Intercultural Leader for Peace. In recognition of his contributions to culture and international cooperation, he was awarded the honour of Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.

Petrocelli has been named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. He is a regular speaker and lecturer at leading universities and international institutions, and his work focuses on the role of the arts in shaping global dialogue, cultural policy, and cross-regional collaboration.

His research interests include the relationship between music and diplomacy, cultural ecosystems in emerging global cities, and the evolution of performing arts institutions in the 21st century.
