Sarah Noonan received her PhD in medieval English literature from Washington University in St. Louis in 2010 and is currently an Assistant Professor of English at Lindenwood University. Her work attempts to disrupt assumptions as to how books were read and interpreted by late medieval readers by exploring how the materiality of works might have influenced their modes of reception.  Noonan has an article in the forthcoming volume of the Journal of the Early Book Society (2012) and was a recent recipient of a Franklin Research Fellowship from the American Philosophical Society.  While at the Beinecke library, she will be conducting research for her current book project, titled The Book in Parts: Selective Reading Practices in Late Medieval England.
