Mike Weaver
Mike Weaver, Professorial Fellow, Linacre College, Oxford, was educated at Magdalene College, Cambridge. He taught American Studies (including American Cinema) at Exeter and Oxford Universities for thirty years, with ten years as a Visiting Tutor in Film at the Royal College of Art. He co-edited Form: A Magazine of the Arts (with Philip Steadman and Stephen Bann), 1966-70; and co-edited History of Photography (with Anne Hammond), 1991-2000. He has written books about William Carlos Williams, Julia Margaret Cameron, Alvin Langdon Coburn, and Henry Fox Talbot, as well as The Photographic Art (1986). At the Beinecke, he will extend his studies of the photographer Paul Strand, whose work he first encountered at George Eastman House in 1966.
