The Beinecke will close its building for renovation from May 2015 to September 2016. Two key dates to keep in mind:
- Friday, May 8: The library’s reading room will close at 4:45 pm. The public exhibition space will remain open through Monday, May 18.
- Tuesday, May 19: A temporary reading room will open in the Franke Family Reading Room in Sterling Memorial Library. It will operate throughout the renovation, though access to some collections will be limited.
There will be no access to Beinecke collections from May 9 until the temporary reading room opens on May 19. It will operate Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Due to constraints posed by the renovation, accessing material could take longer than usual. If you are planning a research visit to the Beinecke Library during the renovation, please be sure to request collection materials at least two business days in advance using the library’s online system.
Additional information is available on the the library’s renovation website.
