How to Request Items
You can request collection material online at least two business days in advance of your visit, using the request links in ORBIS and the Archives at Yale. We ask that you fill out one form per box of archival material.
In process or uncataloged material may be made available with ten days notice and must be requested through our online request system. Email beinecke.library@yale.edu for more information.
Born-digital materials in manuscript collections also must be requested at least eight days in advance. Permission to view these digital files will be granted to researchers upon application. Please review our access policies for specific information about born-digital collection materials.
The Beinecke Library is open to all Yale University students and faculty, and visiting researchers whose work requires use of its special collections. You will need to bring appropriate photo ID the first time you register.
Curators and public services librarians are available for reference consultations by request.
