How to have a class at the Beinecke Library
Please note that, due to COVID-19, the Beinecke is unable to host in-person classes for the 2020-2021 academic year. Please visit our webpage, Teach at the Beinecke, for links to request classroom digitization or a virtual teaching session.
For the Fall 2021 term, please see the update on the Teach at the Beinecke page.
Welcome! To teach a class at the Beinecke Library (1-5 sessions)*, please keep the following points in mind.
2 weeks’ notice to reserve a room, requested via the online form
1 week’s notice to page materials as requested through the catalog or finding aids
15 items or less in class (10 or less in seminar rooms)
*If your course requires the use of Beinecke materials in 6 or more sessions, please apply for a Beinecke-intensive class. To do so, contact either the appropriate curator or Research Librarian. Beinecke staff will work with you to develop a short, informal proposal outlining the course’s use of materials as well as giving an estimate of the date, time, and number of students. Proposals are due in December for the following academic year and you will hear back from the library in February, well in advance of departmental registrar deadlines.
