A list of books from the library of Thomas Thistlewood, plantation manager in Jamaica from 1750 through his death in 1786. Thistlewood kept detailed diaries, documenting his reading notes, his daily observations of the weather, and his work as slave overseer and manager of a sugar plantation.  The diaries have been scanned in their entirety and can be found in the Beinecke’s digital library; a detailed finding aid can be found under the call number OSB MSS 176.
