2025 is the 100th anniversary of Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana and the 50th anniversary of Claire’s Corner Copia, two iconic establishments that exemplify the extraordinary history of restaurants and other food businesses in New Haven. There is no better contemporary guide to New Haven’s historic foodways than Colin M. Caplan, a New Haven native, architectural designer, historian, author, tour operator and pizza guru.
All are welcome to a special one-day display of highlights of Beinecke Library collections related to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Black Freedom Movement on view for the holiday in the courtyard level reading room. The 2025 display will be on Sunday, January 19.

Marking the forty-fifth anniversary of the first videotaping of survivor testimony on video by the Holocaust Survivors Film Project, In the First Person is the first large-scale public exhibition of footage from the Fortunoff Video Archive for Holocaust Testimonies. In conjunction with this exhibit, the Fortunoff Archive is presenting a concert of its Songs from Testimonies project, featuring Zisl Slepovitch Ensemble & Sasha Lurje.
